Sales Manager Job Description The Harraseeket Inn, in the quaint town of Freeport, Maine is looking for a Sales Manager to join their experienced team. With 93 guest rooms and approximately 6000 sq. feet of function space, the Inn is a AAA 4 Diamond property, a proud member of the Green Hotel Association and a State Certified Environmental Leader was named one of Travel and Leisure Magazine's 2010 Top 500 places to stay in the World. We also house two award winning restaurants. The Maine Dining Room features regional cuisine and tableside preparations in an elegant atmosphere. For a more casual fare, the Broad Arrow Tavern offers a rustic hunting lodge atmosphere, an open kitchen concept with wood burning oven and grill. At the Harraseeket Inn, we strive to procure the freshest, locally grown, raised, caught and harvested ingredients in all of our menu offerings. Job Description: « This position requires a person that¡¦s organized, detail oriented and can multitask. « Maintain relationships with existing clients while prospecting for new clients through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls and site inspections « Evaluate business to maximize revenue and profitability while achieving customer expectations « Assess whether a piece of business is worth taking or if we would be better off holding out for a better fit « Be versatile enough to work with tour groups, corporate clients, social clients on a budget and brides and grooms planning the biggest day of their lives « Contract for corporate and social events from 5 to 250 guests « Develop strategies for successful client events while ensuring the expected financial contribution for the Harraseeket Inn are met « Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the Inn and continually upselling « Work within established protocol for balancing the needs of budget sensitive clients with the realities of supply and demand in a 93 room Inn, while maintaining the excellent customer service the Inn is known for « Act as a liaison between sales and the operational departments to ensure the successful completion of a booked event. « At the Harraseeket Inn Sales Department, we host every event we book. That means we work a varied schedule including typical business hours, as well as nights and weekends. A flexible schedule is imperative to the success of our job. « Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner « Ability to work effectively as a team, not only with the sales team, but the Inn as a whole « Knowledge of hotel structure and how departments interact is a plus Job Requirements: 3 to 4 years of hotel sales experience required Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are necessary. Knowledge of Delphi.net catering software is a plus Knowledge of RoomMaster or another front desk operating system a plus Ability to travel to tradeshows and conventions, when necessary Salary and Benefits: The Inn offers a competitive salary and benefit package including health and dental benefits, paid vacations and a 401k program.
